pactour finale

February 21st, 2008

pactour wrapped up a few days ago in baltimore as one of the best shows i’ve ever been to, let alone been a part of. the place was packed, the sound was on point, and all the bands ruled their sets. want proof? here’s the end of envy’s set where a bunch of us bumrushed the stage. pretty legendary way to end an amazing tour.

we also blew up the stage at the end of the audition’s set with equal rejoicing. but in the midst of diving into the crowd, i lost my brown Dodgers hat that my great-great-grandpa gave me on his death bed. he told me to never take it off or his soul would never be at rest. so please, if any of you know where it is, please let me know. myspace us or something. until then, great gramps Gustov will be rolling in his grave…

Black Ice & The Deepest of Sea Salts

February 14th, 2008

Man, has anyone else been to a mall and seen those Dead Sea Spa’s? Hilarious. The people are like “It is the deepest point on earth, the finest of minerals, the most precious of diamond crystals, etc”. Then they buff your finger nails and say “voila”. And you are like “uhhhh, that was creepy”. Well, it is clear that we have been spending wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much time in malls. But we love it :) It’s been an exhausting tour for us ADL boys but we are so thankful to have met so many new fans and to have bro’d down with 3 bands as well. Today found us in Poughkeepsie NY. We met a bunch of new people at the in store performance and had some major technical difficulties at the night show. We didn’t care through. We played threw it and had a really fun time cause that’s all you can do. We are thankful to be out of the ice blizzards that plagued us a week ago. Also, we haven’t met too many creepy truckers at rest stops, so that’s awesome. Man, those guys have a tough job.  Anyway, we are off to Philly tomorrow. I’m gonna get a cheese steak with a side of UNADULTERATED FENDER TELECASTER TONE, so wish me luck.

on and on and on-

February 11th, 2008

PAC tour rages on, and we are killing it. We were able to bear the frigid upper north/mid west portion of the US, and will soon begin our descent upon New England. Crowds have been amazing, and the shows have been so much fun. Again, thank you all for your continued support for the humble dudes in ADL.

Today we have an “off day” in Ithaca, NY. And by that, I mean we are going to be playing an acoustic show at the Pyramid mall, then playing a live show at the Haunt. ADL had one of their first big shows ever at the haunt, over three years ago.

Plus, it is my birthday(week)! It began in Omaha, NE and it won’t end until nearly Poughkeepsie, NY. Many thanks to the all the high fives, signatures on my stomach in sharpie marker, and canadian beers that were had by all.

jeez louise you think you da beez kneez? pleaz

February 8th, 2008

heyo, this is forbidden love, aka ‘the proposition,’ aka ’semi-precious.’ so i don’t know if now’s the right time to drop the bomb, but the boys in ADL are thinking of quitting the rock and roll game altogether for our new gangsta hard-hop proj, tentatively called ‘nine deuce tre.’ it’s pretty hot, and not too speculate too much but a certain ‘timba…’ may be sitting in the producers chair. its kind of like vanilla ice meets NWA meets outkast meets guns n’ roses. the real world may not be ready for it though. time will tell.

one love,

Back in the COLDDDDDDD

Back in the cold weather! 2/02/08

What’s up dudes and dudettes…just sitting here in Seattle at Chop Suey before we sound check… Seattle is really sweet … It’s been a few years since I’ve been here and it’s cool to be back… the trip up here to the northern states wasn’t as easy as we had expected… let’s just say that it’s not a comfortable ride with tire chains on a freeway with no snow…oh and be careful when driving those mountain roads late at night… Kohl and I saw like 7 Bambi’s that wanted to run in front of the van… that would have suuuuucked…  anywho that’s all I got right now… here’s a picture of Brian from Envy On The Coast and myself drinking a casual brew in Orangevale, CA… NIIICE

Well blow me down!

January 31st, 2008

Soooo we had our time in SoCal and it was a blast!! It was real hard to imagine lapping the country one more time, but it has to be done.

So if anyone has driven north from LA to Orangevale, you know that there is ONE road to get there - the 5 North. Well it was some bozo’s idea to close the freeway, just as we were getting started. Not only were we stuck in traffic as four lanes were reduced to one lane, but we were then foreced to find an alternate route around the closed pathway. Justin iPhoned the route, Josh GPSed it, and I carefully drove the windy canyon passage we chose to take.

About two hours later, we were back on the freeway speeding along to our destination. We were pumped, and we thought other motorists were too. Passing trucks and cars honked and pointed at us as we gained speed. We thought they were yelling “Pac Tour, Pac Tour.” Apparently they were yelling “back tire, back tire.” It turns out that we had blown, no, shredded a trailer tire somewhere along the way. And we were forced to stop.

Sadly, our additional hour and a half wait for someone to rescue us forced us to miss our acoustic show at the sunrise mall. We truly sorry!! We will be back soon, and we will rock out for everyone!

But in the meantime, pray for open roads, clear skies, and free beer at the venues!

homecoming!

January 25th, 2008

California here we come, right back where we started from. Three glorious shows are coming up in Anaheim, San Diego, and Hollywood. ADL is also going to be in your local malls, so make sure you come out and get some free music! But on a serious note, Josh is finally getting drum cases. What that means is that we will have a whole ‘nother bench to sit on in the van. No more babying and buckling in his Shine drums, haha. Now we need to figure out a system to choose who gets to lounge in the seat by themselves.-kohl

15 hour drive?? Pshaw!

January 24th, 2008

With our bellies full of Waffle House, a fresh tank of gas, and a bunch of dollar-store sunglasses, ADL is on the road again. Last night we rocked Dallas, TX. And in a day and a half, we will be in Tempe, AZ. So what does that leave between here and there? About 1000 miles, and a whole lot of free time.

So what’s a boy to do??
While some choose iPods or catnaps, I choose more enlightening entertainment. It is amazing how relaxing a coloring book can be!! I have one with my favorite gangster rappers in it. I already colored in Eazy E, and I think Ice T may be next. (and I’m not kidding- check the Flikr)

And of course, there is no better way to fight highway hypnosis than by saving the princess. If your name is Zelda or Peach, then be warned. I WILL save you. I have a DS and I am not afraid to use it.

But that’s all for now. Keep checking the Flikr for all the amusing things we all think you need to see.
